1. About Us

The Aussie Garden Guy provides garden maintenance, landscaping, lawn care, grounds maintenance and related outdoor services across Ringmer, Lewes and the surrounding East Sussex villages.

By accepting a quotation, booking services or instructing work to proceed, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.

2. Quotations

All quotations are valid for 30 days unless otherwise stated.

Quotations are based on information available at the time of inspection and may be subject to amendment where unforeseen site conditions, additional work or client-requested changes arise.

Unless stated otherwise, quotations do not include planning permissions, utility surveys or specialist contractor costs.

3. Bookings

Acceptance of a quotation or booking confirmation constitutes acceptance of these Terms & Conditions.

The Aussie Garden Guy reserves the right to decline, postpone or cancel work where site conditions present a health and safety risk.

4. Payment Terms

Invoices are payable within 7 days of the invoice date unless otherwise agreed in writing.

The Aussie Garden Guy reserves the right to suspend future work where invoices remain unpaid.

Late payments may incur interest and recovery costs in accordance with the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998 where applicable.

5. Deposits

Projects involving significant material purchases, plant orders, machinery hire or specialist contractors may require a 40% deposit before work commences and payment stages with the progression of work.

Any deposit requirements will be clearly stated within the quotation.

6. Cancellations & Access

A minimum of 48 hours' notice is required to cancel a scheduled visit.

Where insufficient notice is provided, or access to the property is unavailable at the agreed time, the scheduled visit may be charged in full.

Clients are responsible for ensuring safe and reasonable access to the property.

7. Minimum Booking

A minimum booking of 2 hours applies to initial garden clearances, garden resets, one-off visits and first-time appointments.

Ongoing maintenance visits may be agreed separately.

8. Travel & Service Area

The first 5 miles from Ringmer are included within our standard pricing.

Visits outside our standard service area may be subject to an additional travel charge, which will be advised before work is undertaken.

9. Materials & Plants

Plants, compost, mulch, aggregates, turf, timber, edging and other materials are charged separately at cost unless otherwise stated within the quotation.

Material costs may be payable in advance for larger projects.

10. Skip Hire, Waste Disposal & Third-Party Services

Skip hire, machinery hire, waste disposal charges and other third-party costs are charged to the client at cost.

Any such costs will be discussed and approved before being incurred.

Where specialist contractors are required, including arborists, stump grinding contractors, machinery operators or other specialist trades, they may invoice the client directly for their services under a separate agreement.

11. Weather

Work may be postponed where weather conditions make it unsafe, impractical or likely to affect the quality of the finished work.

Where possible, alternative dates will be arranged.

12. Watering & Aftercare

Where plants, turf, seed or other living materials are supplied and installed, the client is responsible for providing adequate watering and aftercare unless ongoing maintenance has been agreed in writing.

The Aussie Garden Guy cannot accept responsibility for losses resulting from insufficient watering, drought, flooding, pests, disease, animal damage or other factors beyond our control.

13. Lawn Treatments & Weed Control

Results from lawn treatments, fertilisers, biological controls, weed control products and other treatments may vary depending on weather conditions, site conditions and ongoing maintenance practices.

No guarantee is given regarding specific treatment outcomes.

14. Liability

The Aussie Garden Guy carries Public Liability Insurance.

Whilst all reasonable care is taken, we cannot be held responsible for:

  • Hidden underground services or utilities

  • Undisclosed site hazards

  • Pre-existing defects

  • Damage resulting from unknown site conditions

  • Natural plant decline, disease or weather-related losses

Any concerns regarding completed work should be reported within 7 days.

15. Photographs

The Aussie Garden Guy may take photographs of completed work for record keeping, quotations, website content, social media and marketing purposes.

No personal information will be published without permission.

Clients may request in writing that photographs are not used for marketing purposes.

16. Force Majeure

The Aussie Garden Guy shall not be liable for delays, postponements or failure to perform services where such delay or failure results from circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to severe weather, flooding, storms, fire, illness, accidents, equipment failure, supplier shortages, transport disruption, industrial action, acts of government or other unforeseen events.

Where possible, affected work will be rescheduled at the earliest practical opportunity.

17. Changes to These Terms

These Terms & Conditions may be amended from time to time.

The latest version will be available on our website and shall apply to all future bookings and quotations.
